ANALOG BOUNDARY-SETTING METHOD

Exit phone mode. Enter life mode.

Phone Down Life Up turns “put the phone down” into a repeatable state switch. Physical placement creates separation, so you can start what you meant to do.

Printable tools. No app blockers. Not a detox.

Phone on a timeout sheet to start a focused session

Not a phone solution to a phone problem.

If the solution lives on the phone, you stay in phone mode. Phone Down Life Up trains the phone-down moment instead.

Software solutions

What it targets

  • What you can do on the phone once you’ve already picked it up: limits, blocks, lockouts, and timers.
  • Reducing screen time by controlling apps, not by changing the physical situation around the phone.

Outcome

  • Late intervention: you still enter phone mode first, then try to fight your way back out.
  • Your brain stays trained on “phone management” instead of “life execution.”

The PHONE DOWN LIFE UP Method

Where phone mode ends and life mode begins.

Place your phone on the Timeout Zone. The physical contact marks a boundary, and the phone-down action cues a cognitive state shift. From that moment, life mode begins—a clear handoff into the next behavior.

FAQ

What is a session?

A session is one phone-down window. It starts when your phone goes on the Phone Timeout Sheet and ends when you pick it up again.

Why only 3 days?

Validation does not need weeks. A few days provides enough experience to tell whether this approach is right for you.

Why is it free?

It is free by design. It is a low-friction way to test the Sessions Edition approach before proceeding with the Full System.

How is this different from apps?

Apps intervene after pickup from inside the device. This method is off-phone and targets the phone down moment to reshape your physical relationship with the device.
